One of the best-connected addresses in the city: three MRT lines reach it — East-West and Downtown meet at Bugis, Downtown again at Rochor, and the Circle Line arrives at the Beach Road end through Nicoll Highway and Esplanade. Two rebuilds define it. Golden Mile Complex, the modernist landmark that was conserved rather than demolished, has reopened as The Golden Mile, with a new 45-storey residential tower joined to it by a link bridge. And Guoco Midtown has put Grade A offices, shops and two residential blocks on the old Beach Road site. Both of this district’s projects here belong to one or the other.
